Anniversary Week: The Shower

When Sun Kissed Husband and I went on our honeymoon, 16 years ago this week, our destination was Isla Mujeres (Spanish for “Island of Women”), Mexico.  Isla Mujeres was, back then (I understand it’s gotten more touristy since), a sleepy little island just east of Cancun.  Isla is about 5 miles long and around 1 ½ miles wide at it’s widest point.  The powdery white sandy beaches and crystalline waters make Isla the epitome of a tropical paradise.

In Isla, a lot of the homes have names.  We stayed in this heavenly house called Casa Delfines (Spanish for Dolphin House).

The house is still a rental property and I found some newer images online.

This gem of a house had an outdoor shower!

If you’ve never taken a shower outdoors, put it in your bucket list.  There’s nothing as refreshing, exhilarating, and cleansing as taking a shower in the outdoors.  Of course, having the ocean as your backdrop might add to the ambiance a little.
(That's the Casa Delfines shower!)

Nonetheless, my latest (brilliant) idea is to have an outdoor shower put in the vicinity of the Mancave.  Something like these will do.

Or something adorably rustic like any of these.

But realistically speaking, it will probably end up looking like one of these.

Still, not too shabby, huh? I

I've been reading through your blog and I realized I need to stop and comment before I get lost. All of the beach pictures are making me dreamy. I love the outdoor shower pictures...I have an outdoor shower, but my husband calls it a hose with a kid holding it up. He just won't see things the way I do. LOL!

Happy anniversary. Love the picture of the boy in the car side mirror. It's adorable. Lisa~
