Mommy Summer Camp - Fridays

Fun Fridays go on in my house year round.  During Mommy Summer Camp, things get kicked up a notch.  Fridays are a little less “scheduled” than the rest of the week.  The activities change depending what’s going on in our town.  Some times our city puts on outside concerts with lots of activities for kids, other days we head over to the nature center and have a list of birds, critters, and plants to scavenger hunt.

This particular Friday was the grand opening of the Lego store.  The closest Lego store we had before this one was over 200 miles away so the Sun Kissed Boys were super excited when they found out one was opening only a skip and jump away.

Buzz and Woody were the star of the day.

I am amazed by all the details that go on these figures.

Some Sun Kissed Boys built Lego bricks to help put together an eight foot Buzz Lightyear.

Others were just baffled.

After dinner, the Sun Kissed Boys put on a show.

It's a funny show even if lines are forgotten.

I am happy to report that, to date, I haven’t had to implement THE RULE!  The Rule is if there’s any complaining about being bored or having nothing to do, the afternoon’s activity or the next day’s morning activity gets cancelled.

My Sun Kissed Boys are having such a great summer!!   I

I remember my love of Legos when I was a kid. I have students who still bring them to school and have to be warned that if they play with them during class time, they will become mine.

So far, I haven't been able to collect any.

Bummer.

BTW, I stumbled here via Erin's blog. Just stopped when I saw the amazing Toy Story Lego creation...

I have never heard of Lego stores - what fun - for kids of all ages. I love those giant figures they made out of Lego.
