Why I Blog and Guess What? - A Giveaway!

Updated: 09/30/10 @ 8:30 pm EST
Drawing Closed.  Check October 1st post for the winner.

-On Saturday, June 30, 2001, I started a journal.  I wrote religiously in it every night until Thursday, July 12, 2001.  Committed, huh?!

I even stopped writing mid-sentenced.  Who does that?!  Apparently, me.

After having babies, I always meant to pick it up again because I wanted to document my life with the boys.  I never did.

Fast forward to March 2010 when I discovered BLOGLAND!  In this little blog, I finally found a way to not only record my musings with the Sun Kissed Boys but also a way to keep my brain pumping by learning something new. I have learned more (and still have so much more to learn) about HTML codes than ever thought I would.   It also has turned out to be an outlet for me to unleash my creativity.

What I never expected is to find so much inspiration.  I never expected to find such an unquenchable thirst for photography.

I never expected to find such wonderful people I’ve come to know and sometimes wish we lived closer to meet face to face.

And I definitely never thought I’d still be blogging nearly 7 months later.  I have you, my readers, to thank for that.  You are what keep me motivated to come back day after day (except weekends and holidays and vacations).  It should be my desire to keep this diary that keeps me going, but sadly it’s not.  Your Sunny Notes and e-mails give me the instant gratification I need to keep it going.

To thank you, I’ve decided to jump on the giveaway bandwagon.

I’m giving away a little piece of Florida.  I collected some washed up sand dollars on the Naples coastline this summer and I made ornaments out of them.  There are 6 of them for ONE lucky winner!  There are 5 ways to enter.  The more you enter, the better your chances!  Here's how:

1)     Leave a Sunny Note on this post (I told you they keep me going!).
2)    Become a follower and leave me a Sunny Note letting me know.  Already a follower?  Leave me another Sunny Note letting me know.
3)    Blog about the giveaway (linking it back to me), then come back and leave me a Sunny Note letting me know you did.
4)  Grab a Giveaway button, then come back and leave me a Sunny Note letting me know you did.
5) Grab a 3SKB button, then come back - and guess what? -  leave me a Sunny Note letting me know you did.

You have until Septmeber 30th to enter.  I’ll announce the winner Friday, Octber 1st.  Thank you all again and good luck! I

I'm a subscriber, I left a message, and I'm devilishly handsome, too.

Does that count for another vote?

I now blog for the same reason :) Recording my daughters life on a blog has been much easier than keeping a journal (at least for me). Plus with digital cameras, I now don't have to print out the photos and can just upload them directly for my blog readers to see :)

Yes, I'm a follower and love the ornaments! Sooo calming. I love the beach; especially the beaches where you live.

Those sand dollars are sooo cute! I wish I had a beach here in Arizona, but to get that I would lose Disneyland and we sure don't want that!

I love these ornaments! Heck, I love your blog! Since I started following you, I've begun to look at my "junk" a lot differently.

Nancy H. said...

I would love to win these ornaments. I actually live at the the beach in the Outer Banks of NC, but we never, ever have sand dollars wash up.

I've been a follower for some time. Love the DIYs and the 3SKBs.

I mistakenly deleted Rachel's second comment and I can't get a hold of her so I've added it myself. Sorry, Rachel.

My mother is 89+, had 7 children, and has kept a diary DAILY since she was 16! How I'd love to get my hands on them and/or have her discipline. I use my long-winded e-mails as my diary. I'm sure more of us are like you than like my mother!

So glad I clicked on the link at Someday Crafts! I was totally the same way with my journal! My family blog has been such a great way to record the little happenings of our life! Thanks for sharing!
