How to Survive with 3 Boys at the Barbershop

When it comes to haircuts for the boys, I usually take them about twice a year.  Once right before school starts, then another time somewhere in the middle.  I don’t think this is the middle of the school year yet but we’re living on the edge so off to haircuts we went.

When we got to the barber, there was what every mother always dreads, a LINE!!  So, what to do while waiting so the boys wouldn’t drive me (and the rest of the customers) bonkers?

Bring coloring books.

I always have a stash of at least three coloring books in the car for situations like this.  To avoid arguments, it is very important to have at least one coloring book per child.  Because of South Florida heat, I keep the crayons in my purse.  I found out (the hard way) that they melt in a closed up car.

Bring teeth!
You know when you go to birthday parties and you get little toy party favors?  Keep them in your purse or your car and they can save your life (or at least your sanity) one day.

Bring your sense of humor!
This too will save your sanity, usually always.

If you’re comfortable with this, let your oldest go around taking pictures.

Bribe Reward them with lollipops afterwards!

The above images were taken with my iPhone.  Showing that a shot doesn’t have to be of great quality to capture great moments.  I

Great haircuts! I also live in S. Florida and found a melted crayon on the seat! Fortunately it was leather and cleaned up easily!! Thanks for the recent comment, nice to meet another S. Florida mom!!

They all look so cute. I used to attempt to cut my boys hair myself. Of course when they were little the skater cut was in and that was pretty easy to do!
