Movie Decor

There are certain movies I watch over and over not only for their story line but also because I love the setting.  Under the Tuscan Sun is a movie I’ve watched multiple times for the scenery.  However, there are also movies that I watch for the home d├ęcor.  What Lies Beneath, Something’s Gotta Give, and Father of the Bride are among my favorites.  There are two at the VERY favorite list at the moment.

The first one is It’s Complicated.  I am absolutely head-over-heals in love with Meryl Streep’s house in this movie.  Let’s take a little photo tour, shall we?

We might be redoing our kitchen in the near future and this one might just be my inspiration.

What do you think of the transition of floor materials from wood, to tile, to carpeting?

I am a sucker for claw-foot tubs.

The second most loved movie home  is Kevin Costner’s beachfront cottage in Message in a Bottle.

Who wouldn’t love to have a studio with all these windows?

What movie homes do you love? I

I love the home in "It's Complicated" and in "Under the Tuscan Sun" - those happen to be a few of my favorites. I also love Meg Ryan's apartment in "You've Got Mail" that DVD is worn thin! But the kitchen in "It's Complicated" is to die for - in my humble opinion!

We just watching "It's Complicated" last weekend and I had a hard time following the movie because I was always looking at the background! It's a great house.

I loved that worn out old manor house in "Pride and Prejudice".

I loved that first house too. So relaxed feeling. One of my favorites was always Father of the Bride. Also was Somethings Gotta Give.Love that rug in the living room.

I happen to love YOUR kitchen- it's one of the inspiration pics I have saved for when we gut ours.

So there.

The new header is cool, by the way.

Those are great! I also LOVE the beach house in Something's Gotta Give and for an entirely different but equally awesome set is Michael Douglas's apartment in Money Never Sleeps. AWESOME.

That first one looks like the same kitchen from Tortilla Soup (which I LOVED that kitchen)
