A Little Christmas Decor

I was very mindful this year to tone things down in the decoration department for Christmas time.   Our schedule is very hectic and it gets overwhelming sometimes to deal with it all.  So this year I decided to not add more to my plate by having Christmas decorations explode in every room and concentrated on just a little Christmas decor.

Almost all the ornaments in the tree have some kind of special meaning.  Two of my favorites are these.
I got them both at an antique store in Tennessee a couple of years ago.

And because I love, love, love A Christmas Story, I had to have this!

It sits proudly in front of our window luring guiding Santa in.  The boys set up some Legos for Santa to admire.

Speaking of boys, I showed you their pretty little tree in this post  and the Christmas wagon in this post.  They got their's put up way before mine was!

Hope you’re more ahead of the game than I am this holiday.

I set up most of my stuff in September. After the festivities, I just put most of it behind the chairs and couch. It was much easier to get at it all a few months later.

Your house looks great.

I also have to say that I love your lamp jars. They make me think of fireflies for some reason…I'd love to see you do a crafting activity that mimics fireflies in a jar if you're ever up to taking requests.

Beach shabby and bright! Did I tell you how much I loved your home? I'll bet the decorations just make it even warmer. And the boys' tree reminds me of the one we had for the kids when they were smaller. There's something so sweet about that swirling kaleidoscope of plastic and handmade goodies. You have to smile when you walk by.

Love your holiday home...esp. the leg lamp! Ha! We have the leg lamp ornament...the kids love to press the button and make it say "Fra-Gee-lay...must be French!"

Love the leg lamp... but I also adore your metal trees in the fireplace! Are they connected? The trees to each other, not the lamp to the trees! Beautiful things!

Your angel on your tree looks a lot like mine! I just have lights and the angel on and no ornaments yet! I know. It's nuts. I love your frame with the cards. I have one and may have to borrow this idea.
