One Tree Done, One To Go

We're THAT type of house.  The one that puts up two Christmas trees.  One "pretty" one, with the themed decorations (basically my tree) and one for the boys.

When it comes to decorating the latter, usually, their attention span lasts about 3.5 minutes (if I'm lucky).  This year, I was pleasantly surprised.  SKB #1 put up most of the ornaments and patiently showed and explained them to SKB #3.

It was quite sweet to watch.  It was also sweet to watch SKB #3 put on ornaments being ever so careful not to drop them.

This tree has store-bought ornaments but also some the boys have made in years past.

Instead of a skirt, we use stuffed animals at the base of the tree.  These furry friends wait all year long to guard the tree.

Santa is the star of this tree!

Tomorrow I'm hoping to start the big tree.  I'm crossing my fingers that the boys will be just as helpful.

We're that house, too! (Plus I have 4 small trees in the office/craft room just for me!) :)

Your boys are SO handsome.

Wait, this was just the small tree?

Holy Hannah…

I usually just have white lights on mine and call it good. Of course, if I had two or three little helpers I just might break out of this tradition...

Adorable tree! How sweet of SK#1 to show his brother how to decorate. My #1 would be sooo not patient showing my #2 how. Your boys are such handsome little guys. I cannot even begin to imagine how the dynamic in your house works... I've got 3 little girls & I am SURE that our houses are very very VERY different. Can you say pink & purple princess explosion??? :)

This has got to be a tradition I start and keep when I have kids someday! What a wonderful idea!

Also, can we switch skin tones? :) Your tan is what I dream of everyday. My fake tan from a bottle (though loved and complimented on) will never look as awesome as yours!
