The Weather Outside is Frightful

When the temperature dips down below 60 degrees around here, it's pretty much a guarantee that the local news will open with that story.  This morning, it was 38 degrees!  That's about 25 degrees below normal for this time of year in our parts.  Not only was is it the leading story but I also got a call with a recorded message from the county's school board declaring a "Weather Emergency".  They were advising parents to bundle up their kids.  (Really?!  Is that what I am suppose to do?  Thanks for the common-sense advise, school board.)
When I took a picture of SKB #1 this morning before school...

...it reminded me of Randy from my favorite Christmas movie.

Tonight's low will be in the mid thirties.  With no swimming practice and only homework in the schedule, I think it calls for some hot coco and A Christmas Story underneath  some toasty blankets.  I'll deal with this naked bad boy tomorrow.

Keep your toesies warm everyone.

Wow, and to think that our weather was a LOT warmer than yours…crazyness.

Hope you get your tree decorated soon and that your weather starts to get nice again.

Don't you love that? "Make sure your children are dressed warmly, and bring your plants and animals inside. And don't light your grill indoors for warmth." Okay, I may not own a coat or socks, but I have some common sense, and those news reports always have the whole family hurling hysterical retorts at the anchorman.
