Spring Break Mini Vacation

Last week we had spring break and even though the boys don't sleep in, it is nice to wake up and not have to do the morning rush-around before school.  We did take a last minute trip.  We went to the oldest city in the United States, Saint Augustine.  It's a city rich in history.  Here are some of my favorite shots of our adventures.

This was probably the funnest vacation we've had.  I've dreamt of vacations like this since Sun Kissed Boy #3 was born.  The kind of vacation where we can go to museums and tour historical monuments.  Now looking forward to vacation dream #2, Grand Canyon!

I used to live in Jacksonville and St. Augustine was only about 30 or 45 minutes away. A great old little town with great shopping, food, and museums. There was even a Ripley's museum and and old fort. I live in Pensacola now but I want to get back down there. It was great then could we could drive over and spend the day. And the old hotel there with the inside swimming pool in the basement.....I think it is a museum now. Was built in the 20s or 30s it is something worth seeing.

Your vacation looks like it was a lot of fun!

The Grand Canyon!!!!!!!! Did you know that if you went to the Grand Canyon you would be so close to me?!?!? If you do get to do a Grand Canyon trip, make sure to check out Zion National Park, Cedar Breaks, and Bryce Canyon. I live in Cedar City, UT and we get a lot of visitors to our area that go to all those places. I think that the others are just as awesome as the Grand Canyon and far less packed. :) Sorry for all that. I am just so proud of where I live that I have to share things about it....... :)

I just thought of this after I sent that other comment...

PLUS!!! If you did come this way on vacation and I seen you in person, I would freak out worse than I freaked out when I met the Backstreet Boys when I was a freshman in high school!!! :D

We did the Grand Canyon last summer...awesome vacation and for future reference, a great place to go when your boys are older...no bored teenagers on my trip. However, I did have a few heart attacks when they tried to climb on some precarious ledges!!!

We have our break to look forward to in another three weeks or so; planning a trip to California myself...

St. Augustine is a great city to visit. My sister has a condo in Crescent Beach just down the road. She would take my boys for a week every summer for "camp". They loved it and still do.

I asked my youngest about a cruise and he said no, he wanted to go out west. So perhaps the Grand Canyon will be our next big trip. I've never been! I really want to go see the giant redwoods too.
