One Picture Frame, Three Looks

Teacher Appreciation Gift {Part 2 or 2}

Yesterday I showed you how to make the butterfly clips that I am giving to the boys' teachers for Teachers Appreciation Week.  Today I want to share what I came up with for the butterflies to be displayed.

This project took some turns along the way, but here are the basics.

Prime, paint, and seal the picture frames and backings.
I originally painted all of the backings in white but it looked too plain so Sun Kissed Husband suggested I painted the backs a different color.  Why didn't I think of that?!

Hot glue jute string on the back of the frame.  Use a stick to press the string to the glue for a few seconds to set.

Sun Kissed Husband also suggested to glue magnets on back of frame to achieve a different "look".  Why didn't I think of that?!

I had the boys write "Thank You" notes.

Use butterflies to clip thank you note
I saved the cut-outs from the Butterfly Clip project and used them as embellishments.

Here's Look #1: Use propped up and displayed on a flat surface.

Look #2: On a magnetic surface to hold notes or pictures.
Get it?  Apples... for teachers, get it?

Look #3: Let your wall be the backdrop.
This works out great since the paint you choose to paint the frame's backing might not necessarily match with everyone's decor.

I love how this project incorporated everyone in the family. Specially since the entire family appreciates the boys' teachers!!

Homemade teacher gifts = awesome.

Of course, unless it's from 'that student' who makes something in 'that kitchen' that is...well, let's just say, not 'that sanitary.'

Very creative. This can help improve children's artistry.

Very touching! I like to teach little girls and boys to do like that.
