Pretty Functional Nightstand

When I switched my bedside table for a chair, I had to come up with ways to not only have it look attractive, but practical as well. Suitcases are just what I needed.

This suitcase in the bottom not only adds hight but also works for storing things I seldom get into. Like what, you ask?  Decor magazines, of course!  Yes, I might one day need them for reference.
Anyway, back to the suitcase. I love it's hardware, inside and out.

The more current magazines I keep within reach in this fryer.

It was filthy when I dug it out of a dumpster, but I took off it's handle and shined it up.

The fryer/magazine holder serves double duty hiding some essentials.

The smaller suitcase holds even more essentials.
Yeah, that's right, nail polishes are considered essential.

So there you have it.  My pretty functional nightstand.

So cute! Who would of thought a fryer basket could look so good? Those are great cases too :)

I'd never have thought of using the chair as a nightstand and combining it with the suitcase -- fantastic! Love all of the details!

Really cute! I love the fryer basket!

If you're interested, all the photos on my blog were edited on Picnik, using the "cross process" effect- really easy, and great vintage look!

Yep, I just do "cross process" at about 50%, then usually also brighten the exposure as well. Sometimes I may add a slight pink "tint" to them, but usually not!

That's a great suitcase! I love the hardware, and it has the original hangers!
The whole set up is really cute, Yanet. You've succeeded in making me want a fryer basket. :)
