There will be days that one partner will need to put in 110% while the other is having a hard day and vice versa. As long as both partners put in a balanced amount of effort in the over all picture, then things tend to work.
Between Sun Kissed Husband and I, things tend to be effortless in the sense that we know and read each other so well. After 17 years, we've learned to pick our battles, know when to back down, and talk about whatever is bothering us.
Many years ago, our marriage had it's rough patch but we worked through it and we have a stronger marriage because of it. Communication was key and, in my opinion, it's one of the most important things in a relationship. If you're able to express your thoughts and emotions, about the good and the bad, at least there won't be any guessing as to what's on each other's mind.
I am blessed to be married to my best friend, the one I laugh with, dream with, love.
I thank God we were able to overcome our problem because, simply put, he makes my life happier. When it comes down to it, I just enjoy being in his space.
