He was very specific that he wanted a Batman birthday cake making the theme "Batman".
This year, however, I didn't go crazy arranging and concocting. I planned a simple BBQ (that ran well into the night) with only a few close friends and family.
Balloons and a birthday banner were the only decorations around making clean up a breeze!
The pull-a-part cake was just as fun to eat as it was to wear.
...specially on your pits! :D (I think my boys are obsessed with armpits) I think it's safe to say that this Sun Kissed Boy had a BLAST!
I can't promise I will be able to let go of my frenzied and over coordinated party ways but there's a lot to be said for keeping it simple and stress free!

This is hilarious! What fun they must have had. Are you still finding frosting here and there? Happy Birthday #3 :)
the cake looks awesome! we had a party this weekend, too, for sawyer who turned 6.... i am going to have to remember next time to have the kids put frosting all over themselves- now that's a party!
I have always found that the kids have had more fun the less I planned. One year I had a treasure box, full of dollar store trinkets and the older kids hid fake coins in the front yard before the party. The younger ones had a ball finding the coins and "buying" things from the treasure box. It cost me maybe 20 bucks and they loved it!
Happy Birthday to him, what a cutie!! Oh my gosh that is too funny with the arm pits, my son is the same way! I like simple and easy parties but every now and then I break out the party planner. :)
Enjoy your day!
xoxo
How funny are those boys covered in icing:) I love a big coordinated birthday, but summer birthdays call for relaxed pool parties for sure!
Hahahaha...that is priceless and totally reminds me of something boys would do with their cupcakes! Having girls we don't have that sorta of crazy fun too often. As long as he had a great birthday he won't remember all the things that went into it from streamers to coordinating plates/napkins/etc. He'll remember the fun he had!
Ohmygosh, what a crazy fun cake mess! Happy birthday to him. :)
It looks like they had a BLAST! I've never heard of a pull apart cake before (sheltered life) but how fun! Happy Birthday 3!
I think the coordinating theme is more for us Mommies than the actual kids. :) It looks like they had a great time!
Okay, the fact that they're wearing the cake as well as eating it makes me laugh and makes me realize that you are even cooler than I originally thought.
Why couldn't you have been my mom when I was growing up? Oh yeah...you'd have been too young.
Curses!
I love that so much! Way to let them just be kids. Did you hose them off afterwards?
What is it with boys and armpits? That's so funny. Happy belated birthday to him!
