I think I've mentioned before how much I love joining themed linky parties mainly because they get me off my tush to get a project done. Kevin & Layla of The Lettered Cottage are having a fun one this week and the theme is Summer Mantels.
The SUMMER banner is made up of mini-sand dollars I purchased at a garage sale.
When I spray painted this lamp, I also painted the cord with the intention of using it to "write" something with it. That's how the heart shape came about.
The "vases" came from a restaurant. They are apple juice bottles that I took home with me after the boys drank the juice.
And cheered the loudest to be pick to get up on stage.
Then we got home and there's the whirlwind we left behind while we rushed around to leave. I guess that's what happens when you pack the same day you leave. But birthdays are sure happy around these parts!
Hi there! I'm Cooper. I'm the latest addition to the family and I'm here to tell you about myself. I might come over to visit the ol' blog every once in a while (if Mamma lets me) to tell you what shenanigans I've been up to. Ok, really I 'm here because Mamma's bloggy friend, Ms. Donna, is having a pet-themed linky party to commemorate her kitty, Beethoven, who went to heaven last week.
My condolences to you, Ms. Donna & son. Beethoven seemed like a fine pet... for a cat. WHAT? Too insensitive? I'm a dog. I do that. Sensitivity is for humans. Now back to me! I love to run and play.
Not everyone or everything is thrilled about that.
I have a tendency to eat things. I got in BIG trouble when I ate a Lego guy and some Lite Brite pegs, so I switched to books.
Apparently, a Captain Underpants book is not allowed either. WHAT? I'm a dog!
I do love pulling up weeds.
This drives Mamma a little crazy because it gets my beard and mustache all dirty.
What does she expect?! I'm white, I have long hair, and guess what? I'M A DOG!
Speaking of white, I think there's too much white in this house for a house of boys anyways. I mean really, Mamma has white bedding and if I have to hear about the white loveseat that Mamma bought for only $40 bucks one more time, I might just have to throw up all over it.
WHAT? I'm a dog.
Now, I know you've met my three brothers. I'm not sayin' I have a favorite, but I'm pretty sweet on this little guy. He likes to feed me.
No, I mean he likes to FEED me. Literally!
This contraption is my nemesis.
I LOVE car rides.
But I'm not all sarcasm. I have a soft side. I enjoy laying on this white bed with my brothers.
And my favorite time of the day is the night time. That's when Mamma blogs and I have her aaaall to myself.
In several of my previous posts I have gotten compliments on how pretty and green my lawn looks. Well, that's just about the extent of the prettiness of my outdoor spaces.
The truth is, as much as I pretty up the INSIDE of my house, I completely lack on the OUTSIDE. I'm just not good at decorating outdoor spaces. We'll get to that in a minute. Let's first start with the positive.
In our backyard we have the Mancave area. You can read more about that space here. But the patio part of the Mancave area looks like this now.
After having lost way too many canopies due to the unpredictable Florida weather and winds, we've learned our lesson. Some kind of permanent roofing would be nice.
Leading up to the Mancave space is this area which needs, uh, somethin'!
And the dinning area of the space is where the outdoor farm table sits, half way re-painted.
My husband is always telling me to contact HGTV to come and re-do our outdoor spaces. Yeah, like if I have some kind of direct line to the guys at HGTV'D!!
Then the front of the house is somewhat sadder.
Our great neighbors helped out pretty it up once but then the plants got some kind of bugs and I've let it go since.
About the only cute thing in this space is the little boy in the swimsuit!
Then there's the matter of this tall boy that's halfway dead after lightning hit it. It needs to come down at some point... soon!
So, why am I even blogging about these ugly spaces? I blame Kate, of Centsational Girl, and her Outdoor Ideas linky party.
I'm hoping some of you can take a look and sunny note or e-mail some ideas my way. Heck, I'll put you up if you come down and get your ideas going in person! I can guarantee you, our nights at the Mancave are a blast! Any takers?!
