Television Shows Theme Songs: Family Ties

You didn't think I'd do this series without a sappy tune with mushy pictures of me and my honey, did you?? Family Ties are strong around here and they started and are reinforced by Sun Kissed Husband and I, so of course I can't NOT do this sentimental theme song. (We don't take pictures of just us very often so I have to thank my neighbor, Alanna, for taking these pictures and for putting up with me trying to be controlling to give suggestions about each shot. Thank you, Alanna!)

I bet we been together for a million years,

And I bet we'll be together for a million more.

Oh, It's like I started breathing on the night we kissed, and I can't remember what I ever did before.

What would we do baby, Without Us? What would we do baby, Without Us?

And there ain't no nothing we can't love each other through.

What would we do baby, Without Us?

Sha la la la.

Television Shows Theme Songs: The Facts of Life

This boy and I talk a lot. Some times the conversations are about how his day was, others about why he has to do homework. But they're all about his discovery of The Facts of Life. If they were only as simple as the song.

You take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and there you have The Facts of Life, the Facts of Life.

There's a time you got to go and show you're growin' now you know about The Facts of Life, the Facts of Life.

When the world never seems to be livin up to your dreams and suddenly you're finding out the Facts of Life are all about you, you.

It takes a lot to get 'em right when you're learning the Facts of Life. (learning the Facts of Life) Learning the Facts of Life (learning the Facts of Life) Learning the Facts of Life.

Television Shows Theme Songs: Growing Pains

Lately I've been hugging this little guy a lot more. It's been slowly hitting me that he's my last baby.  As I paged through some of his baby photos recently, I see he's growing way too fast. So the Growing Pains in this post are my growing pains. It pains a little to "loose the baby".

Growing Pains Theme Song, "As Long As We Got Each Other" by Steve Dorff and John Bettis

Show me that smile again. (Show me that smile)

Don’t waste another minute on your cryin’.
We're nowhere near the end (nowhere near)
The best is ready to begin.

Oooohhh. As long as we got each other
We got the world spinnin right in our hands.

Baby you and me, we gotta be
The luckiest dreamers who never quit dreamin’.

As long as we keep on givin’
we can take anything that comes our way

Baby, rain or shine, all the time
We got each other Sharin’ the laughter and love.

Television Shows Theme Songs: Cheers

I am not sure at what point television show directors stopped having songs as the intro to their shows. They still have theme music but they're instrumental, without lyrics. I for one, enjoyed the catchy tunes. You know what I'm talking about. The ones that you'd hear one day and it'd stick in your brain for a week.

That is sort of the case with me right now. I can't remember where I recently heard the theme song for Cheers but it has been playing in my head over and over since. Of course, what usually goes in my brain, in one form or another eventually turns into a post. Soooooo, I give you the Cheers theme song lyrics as seen in my life.

Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got.
Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.
Wouldn't you like to get away?

Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came.

You wanna be where you can see, our troubles are all the same. You wanna be where everybody knows your name.

You wanna go where people know, people are all the same. You wanna go where everybody knows your name.

And so you can have the tune stuck in your head too remember the tune, here it is.

SandBall Fight

In some parts of the earth kids bundle up in freezing temperatures and head outside for snowball fights. Since our temps don't dip low enough for that, we have to come up with our ways to enjoy the same kind of warfare.

As the youngest two Sun Kissed Boys played in the surf, an older, mischievous, brother looked on planning his attack.

It doesn't take the littlest Sun Kissed Boy long to prepare for battle.

However, Sun Kissed Boy #2 knows when to get out of dodge.

He prefers the serenity of building a sand turtle.

Having been a participant in these sandy brawls, I can tell you that they are 100% messy. Sand has a way of creeping into all kind of crevasses. Goggles are a must if you want a chance at beating your opponents. But, as seen here, I can also tell you that they are 200% fun!

Graphic Ts & Other Cool Things from The Children's Place

Graphics, they look as great on a wall as they do on t-shirts. Add typography to the mix and you've got a winning combination. A fact that has not escaped the designers at The Children's Place. They have tons of the cute shirts available as well as adorable spring dresses in their spring collection.

A few days after my shopping spree (courtesy of The Children's Place), I took the boys to the beach to show off their stylin' clothes.

Don't you love the skull flip flops? They match the embroidered shorts above.

Whoever came up with adjustable button tabs is an absolute genius! They are specially useful for that awkward in-between-size stage that kids seem to go through.

I wanted to keep on taking photos but I couldn't compete with the backdrop, the ocean. More on our sea adventures later this week.

While they boys played in the waves, I pretended to be a merchandise photographer.

                Guitar graphic t-shirt        Surf 4ever graphic t-shirt
                Monkey graphic t-shirt        Patchwork shorts
                Skull embroidered shorts      Chino shorts
Worn indigo straight jeans    Indigo royale straight jeans

Happy Monday, everybody!

Spring Break 2012

Spring break is nearing it's end. I find spring break to be a bit of a tease. It almost mocks us by saying "look at the nice relaxing schedule you have". Right when we are getting used to, and start enjoying, the playful schedule, it's over. But we did take advantage of the time off and visited friends.

The 5 hour drive stretched a while because of the rainy weather. Luckily we had plenty of snacks, drinks, and movies on hand to keep the boys quiet. That makes for a much more enjoyable ride.

We spent some time admiring (from a far) some Florida native reptiles.

No vacation of ours seems to be complete without stoping by some kind of body of water.

It was nice reuniting with friends we hadn't seen in a while, playing with their toys, ...

...and enjoying their amenities.

Yes, Spring Break is a short week. But with images like these, ...

... I'd take it, even if it was one short day!
