The Downside of Living at the Beach

Hello there, friends!! I know, I know. It's been a while. I'd like to think that we're one of those good friends that even though there's no communication between us in a while, we can pick up right where we left off. So, let's pick up, shall we?

This summer we've spent quite a bit of time at the beach. For a little while, we rented a condo right by the water. Sounds wonderful, right? Well, truth be known, living at the beach has its downfalls.

Let me break it down for you. First off, be prepared to sweep EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Sometimes twice a day! No matter how much you and your little ones rinse off before going in the house, that sand mysteriously creeps right on in.

Second of all, sunscreen. Figuring out the right SPF is a tricky thing. You want to tan, but not burn. Is SPF 50 enough or perhaps 60 or even 100?! Then what about the face? Should it be higher or lower than what you use on your body? So many decisions! Also, you might as well buy stock in sunblock because you'll be buying tons of it.

Thirdly, ... uh... um.... Ok, that's all I got. The truth is that what ever "negative" point I could make about living by the beach, when it comes down to it, it's pretty darn fantabulous!

Sunrises/sunsets never get old.

Coffee tastes a little richer.

Ice pops are more refreshing.

Games are a lot more fun when the ocean is your backyard.

You didn't really think that living at the beach would be awful, did you? ;)

My Thoughts on Valentine's Day

I got a text from a friend earlier today that read, "I'm thankful for friends, who when I reach out to them, always know exactly what to say!!" She went on to say, "Thank you!! I love you!!"

To me, that's what Valentine's Day is all about. Reaching out to our loved ones. The people in our lives that make a difference. The ones that you wouldn't want to be without.

It's about taking one day out our hectic lives to slow down and tell the people that matter that we love them, appreciate them, treasure them.

Happy Valentine's Day to YOU!
